Changes to the original game
XP/Vista Installer
- New installer created to be XP/Vista friendly.
- The installer installs all files normally installed by running the original CD installer.
XP/Vista Executable
- Modified version of the original AMBER_JB executable.
- Modified versions of the original CMGR32, FILEIO, and QTIM32 DLLs.
- New implementation of XOBGLU32 DLL.
- Fix #MOVUTIL and #newGame script errors under XP/Vista.
- Fix not-enough-memory error under XP/Vista.
- Eliminiate use of Windows directory for game-related files (required to support Vista).
- Upscale to full screen resolution while maintaining aspect ratio.
- Dirext3D hardware accelerated bilinear interpolation.
- On a widescreen monitor black bars are added left/right to maintain correct aspect ratio.
- Store game preferences per user to work under Vista. Default APPDATA locations:
- XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Hue Forest Entertainment\Amber
- Vista: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Hue Forest Entertainment\Amber
