I had a similar problem. But in a different spot. I got around it by using an image program. The problem seems to be accessing the CD-ROM drive. You can get around this like so:

1. Download an image program such a "Daemon Tools" or "Virtual CD" to make a Virtual CD-ROM drive
2. Create image of you Leisure Suit Larry 7 disc.
2. Insert the Virtual Disc into a Virtual Drive.
3. Run SquirtTheCat's installer and remove Leisure Suit Larry 7. (Your saved games will be safe.)
4. Run SquirtTheCat's installer and re-install Leisure Suit Larry 7 BUT MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL IT FROM THE VIRTUAL DRIVE.
5. That's it! Run the game and all should be well.

I have not looked to see if jafa has changed how the game finds its resources, but the SCI games do not need to run from the CD. Normally all you need to do is copy all of the files to the installation folder and edit the RESOURCE.CFG file to point to its own folder for everything.
